HIPAA & OSHA Compliance Course

By the end of this 2-hour course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the core principles of the HIPAA Privacy Rule, Security Rule, and Breach Notification Rule, and HITECH Understand how the HITECH Act strengthens HIPAA requirements for electronic health information.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to potential HIPAA violations.
• OSHA Compliance:
  • Understand the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards applicable to dental practices.
  • Implement workplace safety measures to protect employees from hazards, including bloodborne pathogens and chemical exposure.
  • Develop an emergency preparedness plan tailored to the dental office environment.
• HITECH Compliance:
  • Assess the role of secure technologies in preventing breaches and improving compliance. Learn the reporting requirements for data breaches under HITECH.
  • Integration and Application: Conduct a basic compliance risk assessment to identify areas for improvement in your dental practice.
  • Develop a proactive compliance culture within the dental team to ensure ongoing adherence to federal and state regulations.
